DESCRIPTION

This 5 session course will focus on Breathing, specifically learning and experiencing how to breath in ways that can improve the health and functioning of one’s physical body, one’s energy or breathing, and ultimately lead to greater capacity to recognize the true nature of mind.

* Friday Night:  Learning different ways to sit, that are comfortable and allow the complete breathing to take place.  Beginning to understand the complete breathing by using gentle exercises that allow the experience to take place. Review and practice of the first pranayama, Exhaling the Stale Air.

* Saturday Morning:  Continuation of the experience of Complete Breathing.  Learning to have a concrete understanding and experience of the four kinds of hold:  open, directed, closed and contracted.  To do this we will use different techniques of movement, breathing and explanation.  Beginning practice of the Pranayama of the first series of Yantras:  The Four Characteristic Conditions.

* Saturday Afternoon:  Continuing to deepen our knowledge and experience of Complete Breathing though specific movements, explanation and breath work.  Applying the Four Characteristic Conditions Pranayama.  Then introduction to the Pranayama of the Second Series of Yantras:  The Four Profound Applications or Rhythmic Breathing.  Learning how to begin to apply the Kumbaka hold.

* Sunday Morning:  Warming up with breathing and gentle movement.  Deepening knowledge of the rhythmic breathing and increasing our capacity for the Kumbaka hold.

* Sunday Afternoon:  Increasing capacity and understanding of Rhythmic Breathing and Kumbaka Hold.  Beginning training in the visualization of the Pranayama for the Third Series of Yantras:  The Secret Breathing for Directing the Prana into the Central Channel.  We will begin to learn to apply all that we have learned and integrate the breathing with the visualization of the channels and Chakras.
